So you want to know more about me, well as you have deduced my name is Samuel Ladlow, what you may not know is that I am a 31 year old graphic designer living and working in London.
I love being a designer, I have always loved being a designer and if I was anything else I think I would be very unpleasant person to be around. As It stands I am very enthusiastic, driven, versatile, exacting and slightly childish. I am not childish in the sense that I lack the ability to care for myself or I cry when I am told off, rather I believe as a designer you should look at the world and question in the same way that a child does, and I like the same jokes as my 5 year old nephew.
I come from an artistic background and was set on being an artist until the age of 19 when I started to learn more about the principles of design, its analytic nature, and the way in which design is there to answer questions rather than merely pose them. Ultimately I prefer providing creative solutions as opposed to fulfilling my own agenda through art.
My training within art was not wasted and I bring many of the skills I learnt into my daily practice enabling me to have a very broad skill set. I am equally happy to design a website as I am illustrating a story board or directing a photo shoot. As long as I get my daily creative fix!
Outside of design my other great love is my wife, she inspires me and challenges me daily, builds me up when required and knocks me down when I get a bit self-important. My wife and I have a shared passion for food, you could say we are “Foodies” though I don’t really like the term. We also love music and make a point of going to see our favourite bands whenever we can. One passion that my wife and I do not share is football, I love it, she hates it! I talk about football and sport a lot. I think it is a great leveller and if the world didn’t have it then what would we talk about, probably the weather.
I hope you enjoy my portfolio and if you have any questions or would like to get me involved in something you are doing then do not hesitate to contact me.
